1. Data Processed Locally on Your Device (Not Uploaded)

To provide core cleaning and management features, NeatOrbit needs to scan your device. The following data is processed strictly locally on your device and is never uploaded, stored, or shared to our servers:

• Storage & Media Data: File names, folder paths, file sizes, extensions, modified dates, screenshot previews, and large-file indicators.
• App Information: Installed app labels, package names, and app-specific storage details (cache/data size).
• Purpose: This information is only used to display storage context, highlight disposable items, and allow you to make informed cleanup decisions. NeatOrbit will never silently remove personal content without your explicit confirmation.

2. Crucial Permissions Explained

To function properly, NeatOrbit requires specific Android permissions:

• All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Required to comprehensively scan your device’s storage to locate hidden cache, large files, and forgotten screenshots across different directories. This permission is strictly used for on-device analysis and user-initiated cleanup.
• App Usage Access: Allows the app to calculate how much space other installed applications are consuming.
• Foreground Service: Used to keep user-initiated scans or cleanup tasks active and visible via a persistent notification, ensuring the Android system does not interrupt the process prematurely.
• Note: Disabling any of these permissions may limit the app’s ability to perform deep scans or display accurate storage metrics.

3. Information Collected Automatically (Analytics & Ads)

To maintain app stability, ensure compatibility, and support free usage, we may collect limited technical data using third-party SDKs (such as analytics or advertising providers):

• Technical Data: Device model, Android OS version, app version, language, approximate location (region/country), and advertising IDs.
• Diagnostic Data: Crash logs, scan status, and feature interaction events.
• Purpose: This data is used solely for troubleshooting, security, app distribution, and displaying relevant advertisements. These providers handle this data under their own respective privacy policies.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

Your privacy is our priority. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal files, screenshots, videos, documents, or app lists to anyone.
We only share the limited technical data mentioned in Section 3 with trusted service providers. We may also disclose technical information if required by law, valid legal process, fraud prevention, or to protect the safety and integrity of our users and platform.

5. Data Retention and Security

• Retention: Scan results, user preferences, and cleanup history are stored locally on your device for a limited period to improve your experience. Diagnostic records are retained on secure servers only as long as reasonably necessary for troubleshooting and legal compliance.
• Security: We implement commercially reasonable security measures to protect technical data against unauthorized access. However, please be aware that no app, device, or network transmission is 100% secure.

6. Children’s Privacy and Responsible Use

NeatOrbit is not directed to children under the minimum age required by local laws (e.g., under 13 in the US, or under 16 in parts of the EU). Please use NeatOrbit only on devices and files you are personally authorized to manage. Do not access or delete another person’s content without permission.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in app features, Android permission policies, or legal requirements. The updated version becomes effective immediately upon being posted in the App, the store listing, or this policy page. Continued use of NeatOrbit signifies your acceptance of the updated policy.
